A standards listing does not approve a supplied grade
ASTM D8195 and ASTM D2673 provide film-family classification or specification context, while ASTM D882 and ISO 527-3 define tensile test context. Their scope is not evidence that LayerSource supplies a compliant grade or that a grade has a particular property. Use the current licensed method and compare identified specimens under agreed conditions.

Resolve the assumptions that make quotes diverge.
01Is BOPET automatically the stiffer choice and BOPP the better sealing choice?+
Do not approve either statement from the polymer acronym. Compare the exact constructions, thicknesses, test directions and conditions. Sealing also requires a grade or coating designed for the intended interface and process.
02Can MD tensile data for one film be compared with TD data for another?+
That would mix directional variables. Request MD-to-MD and TD-to-TD results using an equivalent method, specimen preparation, conditioning, speed, thickness basis and unit.
03What should a BOPET or BOPP substitution trial preserve?+
Preserve the layer job, working sides, roll orientation, converting materials, machine conditions and finished-pack acceptance checks. Record any structural change instead of calling it a direct substitution.
04Do the cited standards prove a LayerSource film meets a specification?+
No. They establish classification or test context. Supplier identity, grade, specimen, report revision and scope must be verified before making a supply or performance claim.
